Catholic Charities oversees the diocesan efforts to provide jail and prison ministry in various settings.
Jail and Prison Ministry provides ongoing activities/events that raises the level of awareness by offering opportunities to become involved and offers annual gatherings to affirm and inform current volunteers.
In more recent years a growing awareness has developed regarding the needs of victims and their families, families of the incarcerated, re-entry, death penalty and advocay issues.
Certification is also available in Jail and Prison Ministry with the application process originating through the diocesan Office of Lay Formation. |
