Catholic Charities provides training to parishes to provide services for marriage preparation, marriage enrichment and divorced/separated ministry.
Marriage preparation topics include marriage communication, finances, intimacy and spirituality. Engaged couples can benefit from mentoring or sponsorship sessions with a married couple who has experienced some of the same concerns as the engaged couple.
CANA II ministry is designed to prepare couples for marriage when one or both of the individuals was previously married. We also maintain a Natural Family Planning teaching couples list for the Diocese of Toledo and assist with information regarding training sessions.
Marriage enrichment provides married couples with ways to improve communication, parenting skills and spirituality. Retrouvaille ministry provides sessions for those in troubled marriages, and retreats and marriage encounters offer ways to deepen relationships and intimacy through prayer and communication. Various celebrations – including World Marriage Day and the 25th/50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration – acknowledge and celebrate the joys of marriage and flourishing relationships.
Divorced and separated couples can find peace through retreats, support groups and regularly published newsletters throughout the year.
